Helping Our Children Develop and Maintain a Positive Racial and Ethnic Identity in a Complicated World – Racial Identity Forum
Hosted by Frankford Friends School

In this informative, 3 hour workshop, Drs. McGroarty and Rothery, both experienced educators, clinicians, diversity trainers, and parents, will:

1) Explore the stages of ethnic/racial identity development in the context of multiple systems, such as the family, the neighborhood and school, and within the larger society;

2) Explore ways to help children and adolescents process and respond to overt racial discrimination and racial incidents; and

3) Explore ways to affirm and foster children’s and adolescents’ positive ethnic/racial identity
